Product Notes

Cesconi Olivar wine, from Italy's Trentino region, is a decadent blend featuring Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Lagrein varieties. It has a deep ruby hue, embodying a sophisticated taste profile marked by rich cherry, plum and black currant flavours. Balanced by a medium acidity, it unfolds refined tannins and hints of spices leading to a remarkable finish. This wine is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, adding a velvety texture and nuances of vanilla and chocolate. Cesconi Olivar wine pairs wonderfully with red meat dishes, making it a perfect selection for dinner parties or gourmet gatherings. Drink now or cellar it for further complexity.

Tasting Notes

Cesconi is now firmly established as one of the top Fruili wine producers and is farmed organically or biodynamically. Aromas of peach and white flowers on the nose are nicely balanced on the palate by layers of citrus fruits and vanilla notes from gentle oak ageing.

About the Winery

Cesconi

Situated in the gorgeous sub-Alpine region of Trentino in Northern Italy lies the Cesconi winery, an oasis of vineyard beauty. This expansive estate spread across four hectares of pristine land has been tended to by the Cesconi family for four generations—a symbol of unbroken tradition and meticulous approach to the intricate art of winemaking.

The Cesconi winery has been renowned for its unique style of vino, reflecting an uncompromising pursuit for perfection and a deep rooted affection for the vines. The winery is remarkably planted with an eclectic mix of both local and international grape varieties, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio—each grown with utmost care and dedication.

At the forefront of the estate’s operations are the four Cesconi brothers; Paolo, Roberto, Giulio, and Franco. Together they've transformed their family estate in the village of Pressano, into one of Trentino’s leading wine producers, through their carefully amalgamated old and modern techniques. Their painstaking work, which includes converting vineyard management to biodynamics whilst opting for manual harvesting and low intervention winemaking, are a testament to their commitment to quality.

Every bottle that emerges from Cesconi Winery encapsulates the mystery and allure of its unique terroir, from vibrant, crisp whites to luscious, round reds. Indeed, each wine produced truly represents a symphony between nature and skilled human craftsmanship. This is underscored by the family’s belief that, “Our wines are the fruit of our own labour, the result of the synergy or our family and the expression of our community.”

Although the winery retains its Italian charm, it’s also at the forefront of modern winemaking techniques, making it a standout among other global producers. So whether you’re a discerning wine enthusiast or just someone eager to explore the vast world of wines the Cesconi Winery with its rich heritage and distinct varietals is a must-see.
