About the Winery

Domaine du Clos Salomon

Domaine du Clos Salomon, nestled in the heart of Burgundy's wine-making area, is renowned for its rich history dating back to the 14th century. Owned by the famous diplomat Salomon de la Bussière, it is one of the ancient vineyards tended and developed over centuries, and has been pouring out world-class wines since its inception.

Today, the estate is artfully managed by sixth-generation family member Ludovic du Gardin in collaboration with viticulturist Fabrice Perrotto. They ardently maintain the domaine's original seven-hectare monopole, Clos Salomon, a storied vineyard with limestone-rich soils which lend to the unique character of its wines.

The winery primarily focuses on growing Pinot Noir, producing wines well appreciated for their pure, classic expressions of the grape. Additionally, a small amount of Chardonnay is cultivated and vinified with equal dedication and precision. The winemaking process is carried out beautifully, retaining traditional methods enriched by modern techniques. Minimal intervention is a core principle; allowing the vineyard's distinctive terroir to shine through every bottle.

A visit to Domaine du Clos Salomon is not just an exploration of fine wine - it's a journey through history, On one hand, you get to admire the ancient cellars and ageing barrels. On the other hand, you’ll indulge in tasting sessions of their meticulously nurtured, exceptional wines.

Not only does the winery hold a commanding presence in the international market, but it also carries a Sustainable Viticulture in Burgundy (Viticulture Durable en Bourgogne) certification. This stamps their commitment to environmentally-friendly viticulture practices.
