Peter Dawson and Tim James, the wizards behind the brand, are the living embodiments of passion and expertise. With a combined experience of 40 years in the vine-to-wine industry, they have honed their skills to perfection, producing exceptional wines that reflect the exceptional Tasmanian terroir.

Established in 2010, Dawson and James embarked on a unique gastronomic journey. Their philosophy could be characterised as the pursuit of excellence; a mantra that drives every phase of their wine production. Starting from the meticulous selection of grape vines to the moment their outstanding wine is poured into a glass.

The winery uses only the best handpicked fruit from the best blocks grown on the Meadowbank vineyard, which is in the Derwent Valley. A cool climate region, the vineyard lives in an environment which is considered ideal for the slow ripening of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties. These grapes, blessed by the goddess of nature, radiate an intense depth of flavour and an invigorating freshness.

Over the years, Dawson & James wines have gained significant recognition for their quality and complexity, establishing themselves as a fixture on the global wine scene. Their internationally acclaimed Pinot Noir, full of fragrant red cherries, dark fruits and subtle spice, holds a particular charm for connoisseurs.
