Product Notes

Orin Swift Papillon red wine is a delectable indulgence for wine lovers. This Napa Valley blend is an exquisite concoction that showcases well-rounded notes of chocolate, blackberry and toasted oak. Emanating from artisan winemaker, Dave Phinney, excellent craftsmanship is evident in its complex, vibrant profile. Comprised predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, it boasts a deep garnet hue and a long, luxurious finish. This full-bodied ensemble, matured in French oak for 16 months, is highly coveted, making Papillon a much sought-after treasure among red wine connoisseurs.

Tasting Notes

An intense ink with a garnet rim, the wine opens with powerful aromatics of cassis, ripe boysenberry, and chaparral with hints of graphite, sage, fire -roasted meats and fresh brioche. The entry floods the palate with ripe dark fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherries as well as fresh minerality and a touch of kir and crme de menthe. With traces of tannin, the wine finishes with a lingering sweet licorice and a smooth acidity. Overall, this vintage of Papillon truly characterizes the theme Ñbold and massive yet also delicate and complex.
