Product Notes

Rust en Vrede Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon brims with sophistication. From South Africa's esteemed Rust en Vrede estate, the wine seduces with deep ruby red hues and complex flavours. Rich bouquets of ripe blackcurrant, hints of chocolate and velvety plums fill the senses. A symphony of dark fruits unfolds on the palate, married with an earthy minerality and well-integrated tannins, adding to its formidable structure. This red wine is robust yet harmonious, revealing a splendid balance of fruit, oak and age, with an impressively long finish sure to please any discerning taste. Truly a fitting testament to Rust en Vrede's wine-making prowess.

Tasting Notes

This Cabernet Sauvignon shows off 2017’s deep, almost opaque colour. Aromas of rich, concentrated cassis, black cherry and blue berry evolve into more floral and spicy notes of jasmine, juniper and cinnamon. Fine, grippy tannins combine with a vibrant acidity to create a taut, structured wine. Intense black fruit follows though from the nose with flavours of dark chocolate, all spice and a savoury note of tobacco leaf adding to the complexity. The finish is crisp and dry with notes of sweet baking spices.
