Product Notes

Frog's Leap Merlot wine is a splendid expression of Napa Valley viticulture, known for its enviable balance, elegance, and complexity. Emanating decadent black cherry aromas with intriguing hints of plum, the wine delicately unfolds a nuanced palate of dark fruits intertwined with subtle traces of creamy mocha and spice. Aged in French oak barrels, it imparts an earthy tone and polished tannins, culminating in a perfectly lingered finish. It’s an exceptional wine for those who appreciate the harmonious interplay of power and finesse- it's indeed a class apart, coupled with Frog's Leap commitment to sustainable winemaking methods.

Tasting Notes

At the winery, there is every expectation that we will be cellaring and enjoying the wines from the 2018 vintage for many decades to come. The vintage, quite simply, was nearly perfect and in every way, one for the ages. As we, on regular occasions, enjoy wines from our deep cellar collection, we are constantly reminded how well our Merlots age. There is something about the succulent red fruit flavors that enrich the wine and add depth to the finish. This particular Merlot is enormously promising in that regard. Deep red fruit, plums and cherries and ripe full of perfectly balanced flavors. You will want to enjoy it right away with a perfectly roasted chicken – but please, we beg you – put a few bottles in the cellar

About the Winery

Frog's Leap

Frog's Leap winery, nestled in the heart of the Napa Valley in California, is an oasis of tranquillity and natural beauty for wine lovers across the globe. Known for its premier-quality wines and sturdy commitment to sustainability, Frog's Leap sits firmly amongst the world's leading organic wine producers.

Established in 1981 by John Williams and Larry Turley, this sanctuary for viticulture offers a unique demonstation of ecological stewardship. Not only does the winery's vineyard practice dry farming methods, which minimises water usage, but it also primarily relies on solar power and maintains its own compost heap. Thus, a distinctive blend of traditional farming methods and modern environmental practices marks the operation at Frog's Leap.

The winery boasts a wide range of wine varieties, including but not limited to Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. Each bottle encapsulates the unique terroir of the region, promising an unforgettably sophisticated and rich wine experience. Frog's Leap believes that great wines are made in the vineyard, not the winery and so, the character of each vine is expertly nurtured to create delectable wines that express the unique qualities of the grape as well as the year.

A visit to Frog's Leap isn't complete without exploring the breathtaking scenery of the Napa Valley, Every turn holds a delightful scene of rolling hills, lush green vines, and serene ponds. However, the real jewel in the crown is the winery's exquisite garden, bursting with colourful blooms and humming insects, that offers a tranquil corner for visitors to relax and soak in the beauty of nature.

Frog's Leap isn't only a winery, it's a testament to sustainable farming, a beacon of organic wine production. And, a destination where viniculture and nature coalesce in perfect harmony – all that while serving an enchanting glass of some of the world's best wine,.
