Product Notes

Isabel Estate Pinot Gris wine is a rich, bespoke addition to any wine collection. Made in the verdant vineyards of New Zealand, it boasts an enchanting concoction of floral and fruit notes, predominantly peach and pear. The taste draws in hints of spice and honey, producing a well-rounded palette. A smooth, balanced acidity gives this wine a refreshing edge, making it a fabulous accompaniment to seafood. It's elegantly luminous with a minerally tone, reflecting the unique terroir. Isabel Estate Pinot Gris encapsulates the full luxury of Marlborough in a bottle, perfect for both traditional and contemporary wine enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

The Isabel Estate Marlborough Pinot Gris 2019 is light lemon in colour and has appealing aromas of red apple, pear and subtle underlying ginger spice. Crafted in a dry style, it shows refinement and restraint yet delivers an expressive palate with layers of pear, nectarine and baked apple tart. A creamy, textural mid palate adds to the complexity of the wine and gives the wine great length. Drinking beautifully now and will continue to evolve over the next few years.

About the Winery

Isabel Estate

Isabel Estate is an acclaimed winery nestled in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand. Backed by a rich history of wine cultivation, and an unfaltering commitment to quality, today, it is among the pioneers in the global wine industry.

The Estate was established in 1980 and quickly gained recognition for producing premium wines, particularly its Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay varieties. Their delectable bottles serve as testament to the meticulous quality control measures they implement and their significant investment in advanced wine-making technologies. Just a few stunning vintages under their belt, and Isabel Estate already became one to draw attention from wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.

The winery boasts an incredible cellar door experience, where visitors can not only taste their exquisite wines but also gain insights into their formidable wine-making process. Impressively, the Estate believes in cultivating an intimate relationship between the wine and the drinker, and as such, their personable staff gives a detailed overview of each wine’s story - from grape to glass. It's an experience that's deeply engaging and educational, too.

Something unique about Isabel Estate is their passion for sustainable farming. They practice eco-friendly farming methods that help preserve the environment's natural equilibrium and use organic fertilisers. In doing so, they ensure the integrity of their vineyards and, consequently, the quality of each and every bottle they produce.

In 2014, the winery took another progressive step and launched 'Wild Barrique Ferment'. A traditional wine-making method representative of their commitment to innovation and preserving the authenticity of the wine's character.
