Product Notes

Kir-Yianni Paranga White wine is an exquisite Greek wine, emanating from high-altitude vineyards in northern Greece. It launches with a vibrant blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Roditis and Malagousia grapes, revealing a flavourful symphony of citrus and tropical fruits. The wine has a bright, pale yellow hue, a refreshing acidity, and a lingering finish. Hints of peach, melon, and delicate floral notes create a sumptuous bouquet. The Paranga White pairs perfectly with seafood and light cheeses, making it an ideal choice for summer dining. A delightful expression of Greek viticulture blending tradition and innovation.

Tasting Notes

Intense but refined aromas of jasmine, white peach and apricot, typical of Malagousia, balanced by the freshness of a high-altitiude Roditis adding crisp acidity and zest. Rounded, fresh and delicious.

About the Winery

Kir-Yianni

Nestled in the heart of the captivating Greek landscape lies the venerable Kir-Yianni winery. A renowned establishment in wine craftsmanship, Kir-Yianni prides itself in producing diverse types of top-quality wines that embody the essences of their exquisite local terroirs.

The existent soil composition and climate variation within its vineyards result in grapes with distinct innate traits. This exemplary natural factor complemented by Kir-Yianni's commitment to sustainable farming practices and innovative vinification techniques is pivotal in the crafting of unique, characterful wines.

The roots of Kir-Yianni winery date as far back as 1967, when Yiannis Boutaris founded the estate in the northwestern part of Greece. A true pioneer in the Greek wine industry, Boutaris introduced France's famed barrel ageing method to Greece, further enhancing the quality and complexity of his wines. The Kir-Yianni winery, now operated by his sons Stellios and Michalis Boutaris, continues to uphold the traditional values of its founder without losing sight of continuous innovation. In 1997, it became ‘Kir-Yianni’, to encompass the spirit of its founder and the team's commitment to excellence.

Their boutique approach to wine production is fondly reflected in their red wine label "Ramnista", a Xinomavro that delivers a bold, complex palate. Concurrently, their white varietals, such as Malagousia and Assyrtiko, are delicately balanced and captivating. Kir-Yianni’s vineyards spans over two regions, Amyndeon and Naoussa which, collectively boasts over 40 hectares of carefully tended vines.

Focused on producing wines that represent the essence of the Greek terroir, Kir-Yianni winery truly epitomises the Greek spirit; marked by passion, tenacity and a yearning for exploring uncharted territories.
