Product Notes

Loxarel Cora is a fantastically expressive Spanish wine, blending Grenache and Merlot grapes for a flavour experience to savour. Born in Catalonia, this robust red teases the palate with hints of bright red fruits, deftly mingled with a subtle touch of spice and oak. Maturing perfectly in amphorae and oak barrels, the Cora unveils a rich, velvety texture and a pleasingly rounded finish. Ideally paired with robust meat dishes or mature cheeses, Loxarel Cora is a transcendental toast to traditional winemaking, making every sip a sophisticated indulgence. An enchanting flight of flavours, it is a quintessential quaff for keen wine enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

Colour : Bright pale colour, greenish hues. Nose : Perfumed. Memories of white flowers, almond blossom, vine peach, honeysuckle. Mouth : Fruity but dry, balanced and fresh, with a touch of honey. Fine and elegant.

About the Winery

Loxarel

Loxarel Winery is an enchanting and historical vineyard location, nestled in the picturesque Catalonian region of northeastern Spain. A family-owned winery, Loxarel stands out for its dedication to producing organic and biodynamic wines. It continues to mix traditional knowledge with modern winemaking techniques to produce the finest Spanish wines.

The winery was established over two decades ago as, the innovative brainchild of Josep Mitjans. At only 16, Mitjans broke away from conventional wine-making methods to live out his vision of making wine in amphoras, which are terracotta vessels. This unique approach was radical at the time, but it helped establish a distinct identity for Loxarel wines.

Unusually, the winery’s wine-producing process respectfully pivot around the lunar cycles. It believes aligning production with these harmonious, natural rhythms leads to more balanced, exceptional wines. This adherence to bio-rhythms represents its deeply entrenched philosophies about respecting Mother Nature.

Furthermore, at the heart of Loxarel’s production process is an unwavering commitment to sustainability. Underpinning this ethos is an emphasis on minimising human intervention in order to let the terrain, the climate and the grapes express themselves with authenticity. Pesticides and synthetic fertilisers are eschewed in favour of natural alternatives, resulting in a genuine reflection of the vineyard's terroir in every bottle.

Loxarel is particularly acclaimed for its superb range of white wines; however, ranging from their crisp Xarel-lo to their aromatic and flavourful Muscats. However, the winery’s sparkling wines also discern themselves for their quality and vibrancy, each one carefully bottle-fermented to perfection.

In conclusion, with its attention to detail, commitment to sustainable practices and an unrelenting focus on quality, Loxarel Winery is an epitome of Spanish viticulture. This charming, idyllic winery is more than a destination, it is an experience that unrolls the timeless tale of wine-production dipped in novelty, brilliance and authenticity.
