Product Notes

Meerlust Estate Pinot Noir is a highly esteemed South African red wine, noted for its bold richness and complexity. It offers an exquisite bouquet of red fruit, earthy undertones and a hint of minerality. Intriguingly layered, it consists of vibrant cherries, strawberries, and spiced plum, coupled with subtle smoky, savoury qualities. The texture is silky smooth with soft tannins and balanced acidity, culminating in a well-rounded, lingering finish. This superbly beautiful wine is robust and well-structured, perfect for pairing with game, poultry or lamb. Meerlust Estate Pinot Noir is truly an epitome of outstanding winemaking.

Tasting Notes

Intense, vivid translucent youthful purple-ruby appearance. The wine shows pronounced lifted perfume on the nose with red berry fruit, musk, wild mushrooms and hints of savoury richness and spice and a clean vibrant minerality. . On the palate there are very pure Pinot fruit flavours on entry with red cherry and musk flavours coupled with fresh acidity. The wine has layered complexity with great elegance and finesse. Very fine lacy, almost powdery tannin on the finish.
