Product Notes

The Sauska Late Harvest Cuvée wine is a unique Hungarian tipple characterised by sophisticated elegance. This luscious sweet wine offers a marvellously complex bouquet of honeyed fruits, dried figs, and toasted nuts. Fine acidity balances the sweetness wonderfully, creating a lingering, harmonised finish. Full-bodied and rich, it boasts a luxurious golden hue and an inviting nose. Produced from botrytised, late-harvested grapes found in the world-renowned Tokaj region, this exquisite wine is both a treat to the palate and the eye. Sauska Late Harvest Cuvée is an exceptional option for wine enthusiasts keen on discovering wines beyond Europe's traditional offerings.

Tasting Notes

A beautiful nose of pineapple, dried apricot and acacia. Tropical fruits, mostly mango and papaya dominate the palate with some playful menthol/herbal character. The sweetness is wonderfully balanced with depth and freshness.

About the Winery

Sauska

Nestled in the heart of Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary's oldest and most prestigious wine region, the Sauska Winery offers a blend of traditional viticulture and cutting-edge technology. Commanding an expansive swathe of land, the vineyard is meticulously cultivated, bearing an impressive collection of local grape varieties that includes Furmint, Hárslevelű, and Muscat.

Sauska Winery is best known for their Tokaji wines, which are both a testament to the region's rich history and a beacon of its future. These exceptional vintages are made from botrytised grapes; this natural process infuses the produce with intoxicating flavours and depth.

The estates are adorned with architecturally splendid cellars. These underground labyrinths are used to age their wines, and some have capacity for over a thousand barrels. This conscious mix of tradition and innovation is evident across the winery from the vineyard management to the winemaking process itself; all approaches are carefully selected to produce nothing but the best.

Furthermore, Sauska Winery recognises the importance of sustainability and possesses a firm commitment towards minimising its environmental impact. This is reflected in its pest control methods and the implementation of solar panels across its winery and guest houses. Green initiatives are not simply an afterthought; they are indeed a core aspect of the winery's philosophy.

Apart from its acclaimed wine collection, Sauska Winery offers incredible experiences for visitors. Wine tours delve into everything from the history of the vineyard, to detailed explanations of their production process. Beyond this, there are tastings available that provide expert insight into the complexities of their wines.

Sauska winery captures the unique essence of its splendid natural surroundings, encapsulating it into a bottle for people around the world to enjoy. It is a place where tradition and innovation work hand in hand, culminating in the production of some of Hungary's best wines which are truly worth a visit.
