About the Winery

Veuve Clicquot winery, nestled in the heart of Champagne's verdant vineyards, is an iconic reference point for finest bubbly. As part of France's prestigious Champagne region, it comes steeped in a history as sparkling as its universally acclaimed concoctions.

Founded in 1772, the Veuve Clicquot vineyards spread across an impressive 390 hectares of prime Champagne terrain. The soils, rich in chalk and limestone, are perfect for growing the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier grapes that gives Veuve Clicquot its distinctive taste. After the sudden demise of Francois Clicquot in 1805, his widow, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, known as the Grande Dame of Champagne, took the reins. Under her leadership, the brand made novel strides, including the first ever vintage Champagne in 1810.
