Product Notes

Axel Pauly Generations Mosel Riesling Feinherb is an exquisite German white wine renowned for its refined balance of sweetness and acidity. This tipple reveals notes of ripe apples, lime, and a light mineral undertone, which surprisingly disguises its residual sugar content. Feinherb indicates it's off-dry, exuding a slight sweetness beautifully paired with savoury dishes. Crafted from carefully selected Riesling grapes from Mosel, it's a reflection of the region's distinctive slate soils. This wine brings a burst of freshness with every sip, making it an elegant choice for both casual and sophisticated gatherings. Axel Pauly has indeed created a classic Mosel Riesling.

Tasting Notes

This wine is a pale yellow in colour with youthful reflections. The nose displays aromas of ripe pear, citrus and yellow stone fruit. There are ripe fruit flavours on the palate, with a subtle flinty minerality and balanced sweetness and acidity.

About the Winery

Axel Pauly

Located in Germany's renowned Mosel wine region, the Axel Pauly winery is a family-operated vineyard noted for its stunning range of delectable wines. Established in 2004, it is an example of the ideal blend of traditional crafting methods and innovative winemaking techniques.

The winery spans 10 hectares of sloping vineyards, planted predominantly with Riesling, along with Burgundy whites and Pinot Noir grapes. Due to the steep terrain of the Mosel, the vineyards are chiefly terraced, a long-standing procedure that prompts an enhanced concentration and uniqueness in the grapes. The soil, composed of expansive gravel and sandy loam, contributes to the unique flinty minerality found in the wines.

Axel Pauly, the winery's namesake, is a young winemaker passionate about crafting expressive wines. Having learnt the craft from his father, he developed his skills while travelling and honing his techniques in reputable vineyards across the globe, notably in Australia and the United States. Determined to maintain sustainable practices, Axel champions organic viticulture. His wines are often associated with the modern Mosel style - intense, vibrant and refreshing, while retaining a delicate balance of sweetness and acidity.

The cellar door tastings at Axel Pauly offer an in-depth look into their winemaking process and the sheer dedication that goes into every bottle. Visitors are greeted with exceptional hospitality and the opportunity to taste some of their brilliantly structured and remarkably fragrant wines. The classy, boutique vineyard, minuscule production quantities, and a portfolio that displays its creators' adeptness perfectly reveal what this winery is all about.

In the relatively short span that Axel Pauly has been in operation it has received wide acclaim, with several of its wines often outperforming those from more established. wineries. Above all, what truly makes Axel Pauly stand out is its commitment to harmony - of tradition and innovation, of land and vine, and of passion and perfection.
