Product Notes

Profoundly Italian, the Sesti Monteleccio is a robust and flavourful red wine crafted in the Montalcino region. The wine radiates a rich bouquet of cherries, wild berries, complemented by savoury notes of leather and tobacco, underpinned by earthy undertones. Aged in Slovenian oak barrels, the Monteleccio boasts a wonderfully structured body, solid tannins and a commendably harmonious acidity. Its robust flavour profile culminates in a lingering, refined finish that intrigues the palate. Enhanced over time, it is a wine of true complexity and depth, an elegant choice for any serious wine connoisseur.

Tasting Notes

On the nose this is warm and a little earthy - ripe cherry and an undertone of mushrooms. The palate is slightly alcoholic, but lean and acidic. Flavours are sour cherry, fennel, and mineral.

The vineyards finds its home on the rolling hills of Montalcino, surrounded by a scenic landscape that paints the perfect backdrop to the artistry that is wine creation. Established in 1991, the Sesti Vineyard, though rich in character and echo, is relatively young. The estate is operated by Giuseppe Sesti and his daughter Elisa who together, uphold the traditions of winemaking. Cultivated with innovative biodynamic methods, Sesti vines yield a distinct flavour, which is the testament of the symbiotic relationship between Earth and vine.

Lovers of reds will revel in Sesti's flagship wine, Brunello di Montalcino. With its 100% Sangiovese blend, it's a rich interpretation of Tuscany's grape varietal, harmonised with elegant touches of anise and cherry. Barrelling for five years, the Brunello is patient in creation and grand in presentation.

In 1999 Giuseppe and Elisa Sesti, became stewards of the neighbouring Castello di Argiano creating a unified estate that restored the historical connection between these two majestic properties.

Visitors to the Sesti Vineyard will not only bask in the sweet serenade of the sun-kissed vines. But will be captivated by the astrological observatory that graces the estate. Giuseppe, being an esteemed astrologer leaves no stone unturned in merging his love for the cosmos with his passion for viticulture, which results in sumptuous offerings of cosmic nectar.
