Barbadillo

Located in the heart of Southern Spain, the Barbadillo winery exudes a rich history and a deep-seated passion for crafting premium wines. Best known for its Spanish sherries, this winery truly encompasses the spirit of Andalusia.

Barbadillo winery has been family-owned since its establishment in 1821, a testament to its sustainability and commitment to tradition. The family’s dedication imbues every step of the wine-making process, from the careful selection of grapes to the meticulous ageing process in their expansive underground cellars. These subterranean treasures house over 35,000 casks of age-honoured sherries and carry tales from centuries past.

Barbadillo's vineyards span across 500 hectares of Andalusia’s Marco de Jerez region. The location is idyllic, enjoying the cooling breezes of the Atlantic. The stunning albariza soil provides the perfect growing conditions for the Palomino, the grape varietal used to produce Barbadillo's high-quality sherries.

The Barbadillo winery’s offerings range from classic to innovative, guaranteeing a tipple to suit every palate. Their portfolio includes the crystal-clear manzanilla, well-aged amontillado and rich oloroso. They are also famed for their pioneering white vinous wine - Castillo de San Diego – a favourite among aficionados since its debut in 1975.

However, Barbadillo winery is not merely a haven for wine enthusiasts. It also offers visitors a look into the world of wine-making through enlightening tours, tastings and events. Visitors can traverse the winery’s whitewashed bodegas, one of which houses the Museo De La Manzanilla, a tribute to the region's distinct wine style.

In essence, Barbadillo is an emblem of the Spanish wine industry, exuding quality and authenticity, from its vine to it's bottle. Despite its deep roots in tradition, the Barbadillo winery continues to innovate, ensuring a captivating blend of past mastery and present curiosity.
