Product Notes
Raúl Pérez La Vitoriana La Vizcaína de Vinos is a wine oozing with finesse, complexity, and sophistication. Produced in Bierzo, Spain, from 100-year old Mencía vines, this ruby-hued gem is full-bodied and exquisitely balanced. It offers an intricate bouquet of red and black fruits, with hints of spice and smoke adding intrigue. On the palate, it is alluringly layered, boasting nuanced flavours of cherries, liquorice and minerals carried by silky tannins. The finish is beautifully lingering, making Raúl Pérez's culminating creation a definitive illustration of Spanish viticulture brilliance. Truly a connoisseur's delight.
Tasting Notes
Limpid ruby red, La Vitoriana 2018 exhibits layers of red, brambly fruits with a trace of licorice spice and cherry stones on the palate. Intense and long with an almost sherbet-like, mouthwatering acidity, but it's all so finely measured and detailed - a lacy power with finely etched tannins and concentration without weight. The palate is left awash with fruits of the forest and crisp, sweet berries. One would be hard pushed to find equivalent quality wines at this point.
