Product Notes
Martín Códax Cuatro Pasos Black Mencia is an enchanting Spanish wine hailing from the Bierzo region. This stunning red exudes a profile of rich black fruit, plush in cherry and blackberry with a refreshing undercurrent of mint. Possessing a velvety texture, it showcases Mencia at its best, full-bodied with fine tannins and an elegant finish. Subtle undertones of wood smoke and spices add intrigue, courtesy of oak barrel ageing. Perfectly balanced from start to finish, it is indeed a high quality, sophisticated offering which pairs remarkably well with robust meats and intense cheeses. Brilliant for cosy dinner gatherings.
Tasting Notes
Intese cherry red color. Medium-high intensity where prevails the bouquet varietal of black fruit (blackberry, prune, cassis). Fruit harmoniously assembled with toasted raisings, spices and smoked. Mineral background. Powerful and glyceric, with very well integrated friendly tannins. Balsamic aftertaste that invites to a second drink.
