Product Notes

Teusner Righteous Mataro wine, an indulgent Australian creation, is an exquisite mix of vibrant, dark fruit flavours beautifully entwined with the smoky undertones of oak and spice. This splendid wine possesses a deep, ruby-red colour that is nothing short of beguiling. True to its origin in Barossa Valley, its body is generous with firm tannins, offering a taste that persistently clings to your palate. With each sip, the Righteous Mataro delivers an intoxicating complexity, making it the ideal companion for hearty meat-based dishes or savoured on its own. A fine balance of boldness and elegance, it is a wine lover's delight.

Tasting Notes

The Righteous wines are crafted from the best single parcels, only released in carefully selected vintages - this wine is a pure and outstanding example of Barossa Mataro. Bold, rich and spicy, this wine displays layers of complex savoury fruits on the nose and considerable depth. Ripe berry notes and fruit derived spice elements flow through to the wonderfully fine and long palate with dark chocolate highlights and hints of well integrated French Oak. Fine, poised and delicious.

About the Winery

Teusner

Situated in the heart of Barossa Valley in Australia, Teusner Winery is a beacon of unparalleled craftsmanship and dedication to the production of fine wine. Esteemed for its remarkable range of flavourful, handcrafted wines, Teusner never fails to impress even the most discerning of wine experts.

The story of Teusner Wines is one of passion, perseverance and a profound respect for tradition. When faced with the imminent destruction of some of the oldest Grenache and Mataro vines in the valley, Kym Teusner and Mick Page couldn't bear the thought of such a waste. That they intervened and started to produce wine from this vintage vineyard, is something for which wine enthusiasts the world over owe a debt of gratitude..

Teusner's wines are legendary – they truly embody the unique character of the Barossa Valley. Most notably, the winery produces a range of reds that are rich in flavour, showcasing the intensity and quality of the region's fruit. Every bottle tells a story of the winemakers' dedication to preserving the rich wine heritage of the valley. Yet, behind every successful label is a tale of humble beginnings, and Teusner Winery is no different.

The winery isn't limited to traditional wine-making practices; in fact, it embraces innovation and artistry whilst honouring its historical roots. The winemaking team, led by Kym Teusner, consistently strives for perfection in every bottle it produces. They meticulously follow each phase of the wine-making process, from harvesting the ripest grapes, to handcrafting each individual blend.

Looking to the future, Teusner Winery's goal is to further develop their premium wine portfolio, showcasing the very best of the Barossa Valley and reflecting their passion for the art of wine-making. A trip to this winery promises not just a taste of their stunning wines, but also an immersion into a world where tradition, innovation and supreme quality are harmoniously intertwined.

As enthusiasts of fine wine there is no doubt that a visit to Teusner Winery will leave you longing to return! Or better yet, to take home a bottle - or a case - of these outstanding Australian wines.
