Due to its incredibly high yields, Carignano has earned a somewhat workhorse reputation among viticulturists. The grape's affinity for producing large quantities if not carefully managed, can result in wines that lack concentration and complexity.
However, in skilled hands, Carignano can be crafted into remarkably robust and full-bodied wines. These wines usually showcase strong fruit characteristics of blackberry and raspberry, alongside prominent tannins and a hint of spiciness.
