Product Notes

Warwick Estate Professor Black Pitch Black wine originates from the renowned vineyards of South Africa's Warwick Estate. This ebony-hued delight combines bold flavours from the Shiraz grape, delivering a punch of dark fruit depth. The Professor Black enchantingly seduces the senses with ripe black cherry, bittersweet chocolate and understated pepper. A hint of oak ageing bestows complexities to its taste, whilst a unique mineral composition hints at its origin's rich, terroir-kissed soil. This full-bodied wine, tremendously structured and intense, is laden with character, enjoyable now or when cellared to further matured richness. It is a perfect partner to hearty dishes.

Tasting Notes

Deep purple in colour, the nose is dark and inviting, with notes of spice and dried herbs, followed by purple flowers and a hint of cedar and cigar box. The palate is lush and smooth, with hints of blackcurrant, cassis, aniseed, coffee beans, and cedarwood. Finely packed tannins and fresh acidity makes this an ideal wine to mature and will reward careful cellaring over the next three to five years.
